We enjoyed Joe McKee from Snowman's solo jaunt to Melbourne last month - 3 shows at the Worker's Club were all lovely and graced with guest musicians from all over the place!

Flap! are launching their new album tomorrow night at the Corner Hotel. 'A Great Day for the Race' was recorded by Anna Laverty and mixed by Adam Rhodes at Sing Sing Studio in Melbourne. Oh, and it's the feature album on PBS FM next week!

The Worst punked out also at the Corner Hotel on Thursday night to a very, let's say receptive audience!

The Twerps launch in March at the Phoenix was the biggest queue we've seen in Brunswick EVER! Congrats guys.

And finally...I know it's old news but....Adele, seriously....check this performance out from last year's BRIT awards. A really special talent out of London.

We have been anxiously awaiting The Peep Tempel's debut album and we picked up our copy at their ear - bleeding launch at the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne last week. It does not disappoint. Stand out track - 'People Don't Get You'.

Getting excited about Ryan Adams' Australian tour dates we're flogging the new one 'Ashes & Fire' constantly.

Plus Melbourne trio Them Swoops are forcing us to get our dancing shoes on with their tunes 'Work Around It' and 'Too Fast for Love' which has the BEST VIDEO EVER!

ON THE HOOKED UP STEREO LATELY

We're lucky enough to have been sent a couple of great upcoming releases which are fantastic and we're very much looking forward to hearing all about their success! 

Pillarcat's upcoming UK release "Weave" is wild, and the Melbourne based Bonjah's new record is beautiful, look out for that one, produced by Steven Schram at Sing Sing studio in Richmond and assisted by Hooked Up's very own Anna Webster!

ON THE HOOKED UP STEREO

Wolves out of Perth have a great record looking for a home and it'll want to be a big one cause this band is going to be huge! 

Also listening to the Newbirds EP and loving it's soulful, 60s influenced rock n roll. 

A random stumble across Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros "Home" on the radio filled us with joy.

We've also been to so many gigs this week you wouldn't believe we could have got any work done - Divorced residency at Yah Yah's was something to see, with Pearls as a support (on the night we made it down) making it a great night out all round. Mourning the loss of Perth band Institut Polaire we went in homage to see ex band members Ash and Toby play with Kate Nash at Billboard, way better than we expected and always good to see some local boys getting the big gigs.
